Career Journey and Current Role: Decades of Diverse Sales Experience
Throughout my career, I have worked in various sales roles across a wide array of industries, mainly in inside sales and field sales. I started out in distribution in 1979 and I have since worked in a variety of distribution roles across many industries. My experience at Fluke Corporation enabled me to gain valuable skills in managing customer relationships, sales strategies and market analyses. Those skills have proved useful to me in the future as well.
In our company, we have a very strong internal process by which we collaborate with our key suppliers in order to provide cost savings year over year.
Tracking Tech Advancements: Insights, Forums and Collaboration
As a result of the manufacturers' websites, the ISM material and distribution communication, as well as what my engineers are looking at for new designs, I have been able to stay informed of emerging trends. Additionally, I attend industry conferences as well as webinars to remain informed. In addition to participating in professional forums, I subscribe to relevant journals and newsletters as well. I am able to stay abreast of the latest developments in electronic component technology as a result of my multifaceted approach.
Cost, Lead Time, Quality: Process-Driven Supplier Collaboration
As you probably know, we take the total cost of ownership (TCO) into consideration when choosing a product to purchase. In our company, we have a very strong internal process by which we collaborate with our key suppliers in order to provide cost savings year over year. In addition to inventory stocking programs, costs, technology scalability, terms and tariff mitigation as of late, our company has a very robust internal process that enables us to do so effectively.
Words to Work By: Follow Up, Follow Through
In our opinion, follow-up and customer service will always carry weight with us and it’s imperative that you get to know your customers so you don’t waste their time on things that don’t fit their needs or what they need and that’s why it’s crucial to get to know them well. This day and age, as we all know, we all do a lot of data management. I will switch to another supplier that will be able to provide me with answers and support as needed.
